Creating safe, respectful sport environments remains a critical priority across all levels of sport. This session will explore approaches to prevention, response mechanisms, and accountability in addressing maltreatment in sport.

Moderated by Michael Thompson, Chief Commercial Officer at oneBADGEsport, the panel will feature Denise Biziaev (BEd, BPE, BRS), Co-Founder of Tigers Skate Club; Elana Liberman, Safe Sport Lead at Sport Nova Scotia; Samantha Heron (BA, MA), Chief Resolution Officer at ITP Sport & Recreation; and Shauna Bookal, President & CEO of Inclusion in Canadian Sports Network (ICSN).

Grounded in recommendations from the Commission’s Final Report, the discussion will consider topics such as consistent standards, reporting systems, and support structures that contribute to a culture of safety and trust. Attendees will gain insight into the roles that organizations, leaders, and participants play in advancing safe sport practices across the system.
